Luciano Ataide Neves

Luciano Ataide Neves passed away on December 21, 2025. He was 92 years old. Born on February 10, 1933 to Jo Neves and Maria Leontina Neves in Praia do Almoxarife, Faial, Acores Luciano lived a long, meaningful, and fulfilling life. He immigrated to Canada in 1957 where he worked at a factory. He then married his wife of 67 years Alice Neves. They then moved to San Leandro where they’ve lived in the same house since. He worked as a machinist, where he took great pride in his work. He loved to travel, camp, and attend Portuguese festivals. Throughout his whole life he enjoyed spending time with his family in his RV taking trips to the beach and anywhere up and down the California Coast. He also traveled and cruised worldwide by taking many trips back to his birthplace and hometown, along with many other places in Europe. He loved his family dearly and was proud of all the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren with the life he helped create for them. Luciano is survived by his wife Alice Neves. They had three children Alvaro Neves (Colleen Neves), Lina Jimenez (Miguel Jimenez), and his late daughter and son-in-law Olga and Antonio Galindo. He had seven grandchildren Lorenzo and Alexis Galindo, Sebastian, Gracie, Mary, Marciano, and Lucia Neves. He had five siblings Jose*, Renato, Odete*, Jovina, and Hermino*, nephews, nieces, and extended family. He will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held at Santos Robinson Mortuary on Thursday January 8th from 2:00pm - 8:00pm with a Rosary at 6:00pm

Funeral Mass will be held at St. John Catholic Church in San Lorenzo on Friday January 9th at 10:30am. 

Burial to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward.
